CLAY. IN.

CLAY. OUT.

The Studio

Before it is anything, it is centered.

We work at the wheel, slow and by hand. Every form begins as a mound of clay, centered until it holds its shape. It is built with patience, pieces made for use, and pieces made simply to be held.

About the founder

Khushboo’s introduction to ceramics was an interesting happenstance: she was working on her thesis under the apprenticeship of a senior architect when she first discovered ‘kavelu’ - the terracotta roof tiles often seen in Indian vernacular architecture - and there began her love for clay.

Her curiosity for the material was an all-consuming experience and in the years that followed, she dedicated her time and attention to learning the art of creating earthenware. The joy of moulding a piece into existence which once was earth, dust, and water, to her, started to seem both fascinating and calming.
